All the monster Bonefish come from the legendary “Downtown Islamorada flats”.   Along with the Bonefish, comes the Permit, Tarpon, and Sharks, all are the most targeted sport fish species found on the flats of the Florida Keys.  These fish are not easy to find or catch, making them the prize of a lifetime when it happens.

Sight fishing in the shallow water is the preferred method of “stalking” these fish with light tackle or fly gear. This type of fishing is much like hunting, it is extremely exciting, but does require an immense amount of patience. These fish are tough to catch, require excellent angling skills, and are not caught in a large number in a daily outing. This is why they are the ultimate challenge and sought after by so many anglers from around the world.

The fishing guides in Islamorada deal with these tough fish all the time, and in order to produce they must stay on top of their game. Islamorada is known for some of the most talented fishing guides in the country. Even with all the high tech boats and tackle, these fish never make it easy.

This trip is limited to one or two anglers as the flats boats are small and designed for poling the shallows. We do not recommend this trip for kids.
