Biscayne Rod Manufacturing
www.BiscayneRod.com I can't imagine a tougher testing ground
for quality fishing rods than here in the Florida Keys.
Islamorada, known as the Sportfishing Capital of the World,
is only a small part of the intense fishery we have from
Key Largo to Key West. During my lifetime in South Florida,
I have gone from an avid fisherman as a youngster,
to a veteran professional fishiing guide, spending my life
attached to a fishing rod. I have seen every type
of rod and rod builder out there. I have used many other
manufactures product and have found some good ones, great
ones, junk ones, etc. etc. etc.
What has always impressed me with Biscayne Rod, is that Eddie only
builds the best. He never skimps on quality, fit, finish, or integrity of a
built rod. A 10lb. Billy Baroo is the same everytime you get one. The
action, componets, and graphite blanks never change. It is always perfect. There
are no CHEAP COMPONETS FROM OVERSEAS. There is no "almost" with Eddie.
Eddie would rather close up the shop than produce a less than perfect product. Biscayne
Rod also builds gaffs, tag sticks, de-hookers, pushpoles, kite rods and anything
else you could possible need for fishing. I was first introduced to Biscayne Rod in
the early 90's with a gift from a veteran fishing guide
that was my neighbor. As I was toying with the idea of learning
how to fly fish, he gave me a vintage Biscayne Rod (Billy
Baroo) 1 piece saltwater flyrod, that was built in the 80's.
I still have that rod in service today, and it has
passed thru the hands of many fly fisherman and it never
seems to get less than a smile from those who use it. Today
as a professional/fishing guide, I own over 70 Biscayne
Rods from spinning/conventional 4lb. to 30lb., plus
a quiver of one piece Billy Baroo flyrods. Even my
wife has her own Biscayne Rod rack that includes 6 custom
built just for her with pink wraps and all. My young son
Cayson who is now 4 , got his first Eddie special when he
was 2. That rod is truely indestructable as Cayson has dragged
it all around the backyard and has attacked many a pirate
ship with it. (I had to keep him out of rods) or the fear
of graphite splinters of my Billy Baroo collection was iminent
as he attacked Black Beard. When you consider your next fishing rod purchase,
check out a Biscayne Rod or ask anyone who owns one. Like
any "tools of the trade" you get what you pay
for and it will never let you down. Since 1948 , Biscayne Rod Manufacturing has
been the premier manufacturer of fishing rods for deep sea,
flats, inshore, rivers, streams and lakes. We build rods
in every pound and weight class for every thing from trout
and bass to snook, tarpon, permit, tuna, sailfish, and swordfish.
We build slow action, fast action, short, long, roller,
ring, one-piece, multi-piece, fiberglass or graphite, -
you name it. The
choices may be mind-boggling, but our experience has demonstrated
the single most important factor in any rod is the pound
class which links the angler and the fish. Without the ability
to break the pound class under all of your fishing conditions,
the result can be a ruined fishing trip. At Biscayne Rod,
our goal is to provide you with a rod that you can count
on in terms of its strength, deflection, capability and
durability. There are no short-cuts when building the world's
most acclaimed rods. In fact, Biscayne Rod's owner, Eddie
Carman, is a third-generation rod builder who personally
assists in the manufacturing and inspection of our rods.
The personal attention is one reason our rods are the best
you can buy. If you want the world's finest rod, just ask
anyone who has used one of our rods - you'll receive an
education on how Biscayne Rod surpasses the capabilities
and durability of any other rod on the market. We carry dozens of standard shop models covering
the various fishing circumstances. You will see these in
our catalog pages. However, your needs may be unique so
we allow you to customize your rod options by changing the
color, lengths, butts and other hardware and wrapping specifications
to meet your exact requirements. That is what we are all
about -- giving you exactly what you want with no compromises. Eddie and Sandra are proud to carry on a tradition
of excellence which is now marked by our 60th Anniversary
in the business.
